1/60 Exia Transam Mode

Hi! Welcome to my newly opened blog! I finally had time to start one and I do have a lot of work to do - like fixing up the template - but here goes and I hope you enjoy your stay...

I'm not sure if I'll be focusing on anything specific here in my blog. But it'll most probably complain stuff about photography and/or anime, including Gundam, which is the topic of this 1st post.

I bought this 1/60 Exia Transam Mode kit during the Anime Festival Asia 2008 held here in Singapore. This was a convention exclusive so everyone just wanted to get it, including me. I also bought a lot of other stuff during the event, including an MG Rx78-2 v2.0, whose manual was signed by Kunio Okawara himself :D

Going back to the Exia, looking at Dalong's review for the kit, you will see that Bandai had the sword and other mechanical parts molded in either black or clear black, which was annoying for me. Transam mode means that the Exia, or any other Gundam in 00 becomes primarily pink (or red, if you wish). And the huge sword should be silver, not black!

So off I went and sprayed pearl red paint for the mechanical parts and silverleaf for the sword. I used Gundam Markers for the eyes. I don't usually use foil stickers, but I got a bit lazy and the stickers had those nice Celestial Being markings, so for this kit, I ended up using them. I don't think clear kits were made for heavy-duty gluing and painting, so I tried to avoid that. I did use transparent glue for the armor though. It makes the kit sturdier and you won't notice it as it doesn't have any visible residue.

Anyway, here are the rest of the pics. All of these were actually taken by my wife, while I was teaching her photography basics and how to use the 40D.

Please do feel free to comment on them and I would welcome any suggestion that you may have for the blog in general.
Thanks and enjoy!
