Off to the Singapore River Festival we went, last 27th June. Apparently, it's an annual event that's held for a week by the Singapore River (hence it's name) at Clarke Quay. Events are held in the evening, since Clarke Quay is know more as a night-spot. I don't go there often, since I'm not much of a night person, but the wife wanted to do something different and I thought it was a good time to practice some night photography :)
I'm a bit annoyed that I left my 50mm f/1.8 lens since that would have helped taking night shots. Instead, I brought my other lenses:
- EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
- EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
- EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Oh well. I'm hoping to replace my 17-85mm soon with a 24-70mm f/2.8L USM that I've been saving up for. I might also replace my 50mm with either a 35mm f/2.0 or a 50mm f/1.4 USM, but maybe for next year after all the Christmas shopping is done with.
In the meantime, here are some pictures that I was able to salvage from my photoshoot.
At least my wife was happy with our night-out :)
Admittedly, hasn't happened lately since we usually spend our nights at home unless someone invites us to a party or dinner.
