Weapons of Freedom

After putting on Freedom's armor comes a short post on the weapons.

Compared to the Destiny's assortment of weapons and accessories, Freedom comes with just a few: rifle, shield, wings, hip railguns, beam sabers and shield. No wonder Kira needed an upgrade to match Destiny.

The pic above shows the hip railguns in both folded and extended mode. After the parts breaking in Destiny's launcher, I was a bit scared in folding and extending this one. But it looks like it'll hold well.

The rifle comes in 2 sets of colors: gray and silver. Bandai went the cheap route and provides you with a sticker for the blue coloring of the rifle. I threw that away and hand-painted it in metallic blue instead. Unfortunately, it didn't match the blue used in the rest of the kit ^^;;;

I've always liked the design of Freedom's shield. The red piece swings up for some reason.

The wings don't feel as flimsy as Destiny's. I had to use the sticker with the yellow and red traingle cause there's no way I'd be able to paint that detail in.
I'll show more pics of these open next time.

And here's the crappy stand. You can't twist it like the MS Base or Destiny's stand, nor can you do anything else to it. You just remove a piece from Freedom's butt and plug the stand in, and that's it.

I still need to figure a way to get good pics of the Freedom and Destiny without the lightbox, so until then, I'll focus on other stuff for now...
